ECHL Playoff Situation - 4/1/26

IRONHAWKS fans, with every day that passes, we’re getting closer and closer to the start of our inaugural season in October. This time next year we’re expecting to be in a playoff run, but for now let’s enjoy the last Kelly Cup Playoff’s without the IRONHAWKS! The top 4 teams in each division qualify for the playoffs. Here’s a rundown of where things stand going in to the final weeks of the season:

North Division:

The future division hosting the IRONHAWKS pushes into the playoffs with the Wheeling Nailers currently at the top with 90 points, and the Maine Mariners behind them at 84 points. Both teams have clinched, while the remaining 2 spots are up for grabs, with the Reading Royals and Adirondack Thunder holding the 3 & 4 seeds. Trois Rivières and Worcester are still in the hunt, Norfolk and Greensboro have been eliminated.

South Division:

No need to adjust your watch, the Florida Everblades still rule the South! The team whom the Trenton Titans defeated for the Kelly Cup in 2005 sits on top of the division with 95 points, and a comfortable lead ahead of the Atlanta Gladiators (87) and South Carolina Stingrays (86), both have clinched a spot. The Savannah Ghost Pirates currently sit in 4th with 66 points; Jacksonville, Greenville and Orlando still in the hunt.

Central:

It will be a race to the finish for the Toledo Walleye and Fort Wayne Komets, both with 87 points and both have clinched a berth for the playoffs. The remaining seeds will go to 2 of the 4 teams in the running: Indy, Kalamazoo, Bloomington and Cincinnati. The Iowa Heartlanders, who announced their suspension from the 2026-27 season, are eliminated from contention.

West:

The only team to clinch the division title in the ECHL is the Kansas City Mavericks, who have 105 points and the best record in the league. The Idaho Steelheads have also clinched a playoff spot with their 85 points. The Allen Americans (75) and Tahoe Knight Monsters (69) hold the remaining spots, though Rapid City, Wichita and Utah are statistically in the running. Tulsa has been eliminated. The future IRONHAWKS - Utah Grizzlies - currently have 57 points with 7 games remaining.
