TRENTON, N.J. — The Trenton Ironhawks have signed forward Nate Hanley ahead of the team’s inaugural 2026-27 season, adding a four-year NCAA Division I veteran to the forward group.
Hanley, a senior at Union College, finished his collegiate career with 97 points on 25 goals and 72 assists in 143 games. His 72 career assists ranked 11th among active NCAA Division I players at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season and are the 10th-most in Union’s Division I history.
The Rocky Point, New York, native enjoyed his most productive season in 2024-25, recording 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points in 35 games. He registered a career-high four points in a win over St. Lawrence on Jan. 11, 2025, recording two goals and two assists, before scoring the overtime game-winning goal against Rensselaer to clinch the Mayor’s Cup later that month.
Hanley recorded 26 points during his junior season in 2023-24, appearing in all 37 games for Union. As a freshman, he finished second on the team in scoring with 21 points on five goals and 16 assists while earning ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month and Rookie of the Week honors.
Prior to Union, Hanley spent four seasons in the United States Hockey League, playing for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, Green Bay Gamblers and Youngstown Phantoms. He totaled 63 points in 162 career USHL games and served as an assistant captain with Cedar Rapids during the 2021-22 season, recording 27 points in 53 games.
Hanley joins the Ironhawks after completing his collegiate career at Union, bringing four years of Division I experience, strong playmaking ability and a proven track record of producing offensively to Trenton’s inaugural roster.
