TRENTON, N.J. — The Trenton Ironhawks have signed defenseman Mathieu Boislard ahead of the team’s inaugural 2026-27 season, adding hard-nosed presence to the blue line.
Boislard, 24, is entering his sixth professional season and brings 216 career professional games of experience to Trenton. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound defenseman has accumulated 579 penalty minutes throughout his professional career, establishing a reputation as a tough competitor who is not afraid to finish his checks or drop the gloves.
Boislard played with the Binghamton Black Bears of the Federal Prospects Hockey League for three seasons, recording 38 points in 104 regular-season games while helping the Black Bears capture an FPHL championship.
The Fleurimont, Quebec, native continued his career in the SPHL before making his ECHL debut with the Trois-Rivières Lions during the 2024-25 season. He appeared in 27 games with Trois-Rivières before spending the 2025-26 season between the Adirondack Thunder and Utah Grizzlies, combining for 54 games and three points.
Boislard now brings his physical style, toughness and personality to Trenton as he competes for a spot on the Ironhawks’ inaugural roster.
