TRENTON, N.J. - The Trenton Ironhawks announced today that the team has signed defenseman Brennan Kapcheck ahead of the organization’s inaugural 2026-27 season.
Kapcheck, 29, joins the Ironhawks after a strong 2025-26 campaign with the Tahoe Knight Monsters, where he recorded one goal and 21 assists for 22 points in 43 games.
The Mount Prospect, Ill., native has appeared in more than 200 ECHL games throughout his professional career, including 107 games with Tahoe over the past two seasons. Kapcheck recorded 55 points during his time with the Knight Monsters, establishing himself as a consistent contributor from the blue line. His performance earned him recognition as a member of the ECHL Midseason All-Star Team.
Prior to joining Tahoe, Kapcheck spent three seasons with the Newfoundland Growlers, recording 59 points on seven goals and 52 assists in 115 regular-season games. He also appeared in 31 ECHL playoff games with Newfoundland, adding 14 points.
Kapcheck has also appeared in eight American Hockey League games with the Toronto Marlies and spent time overseas with HKM Zvolen in Slovakia. Before turning professional, he played four seasons at American International College, where he totaled 94 points on 14 goals and 80 assists in 2021. During his collegiate career, Kapcheck was named an NCAA East All-American in 2021 and was a Hobey Baker Award nominee in 2018. He also served as captain of AIC during his senior season.
The Ironhawks open their inaugural season on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. at CURE Insurance Arena against the Adirondack Thunder.
