Trenton Ironhawks Sign Ukrainian Defenseman and Former NHL Draft Pick Artur Cholach

TRENTON, N.J. — The Trenton Ironhawks have signed Ukrainian defenseman Artur Cholach ahead of the team’s inaugural 2026-27 season.

Cholach, 23, enters his third season in the ECHL after spending the past two seasons with the Tahoe Knight Monsters. The Lviv, Ukraine, native recorded 34 points in 94 regular-season games with Tahoe, including a career-high 23 points on seven goals and 16 assists in 54 games during the 2024-25 season.

The 6-foot-1, 198-pound defenseman also appeared in 10 games with the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League last season, recording two assists. During the 2024-25 season, he made five appearances with Henderson before joining Tahoe, marking his first AHL action.

Cholach began his North American career with the New Jersey Jr. Titans, playing at the 18U level during the 2019-20 season. He went on to spend two seasons with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League, recording 34 points in 116 regular-season games, before joining the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League for the 2023-24 season.

A native of Ukraine, Cholach has also represented his country internationally, including appearances with Ukraine at the IIHF World Junior Championship and Olympic qualifying. He joins the Ironhawks with professional experience across the AHL and ECHL as Trenton prepares for its inaugural season.
