TRENTON, N.J. — The Trenton Ironhawks announced the signings of goaltender Aaron Trotter and forward Ryan Bottrill on Thursday, with both players set to attend New York Islanders Rookie Camp alongside fellow Ironhawks defenseman Luke Antonacci.
Trotter, 25, comes to Trenton following a collegiate career with the University of St. Thomas. The Victoria, British Columbia, native appeared in 14 games during the 2025-26 season, posting a 2.39 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. Trotter finished his St. Thomas career with 92 games played, a 2.78 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
Bottrill, 24, joins the Ironhawks after completing his collegiate career at Clarkson University. The Scottsdale, Arizona, native recorded nine goals and 27 assists for 36 points in 38 games during the 2025-26 season, his most productive collegiate campaign.
The forward spent his first two NCAA seasons at Brown University before transferring to Clarkson. Across four collegiate seasons, Bottrill appeared in 137 games, recording 26 goals and 69 assists for 95 points. He also gained professional experience last season, appearing in five games with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.
Antonacci, who was previously announced as one of the Ironhawks’ first signings, will join Trotter and Bottrill at Islanders Rookie Camp. The Princeton, N.J., native appeared in 15 games with the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL during the 2025-26 season after completing his NCAA career between the University of Maine and Lake Superior State University.
The opportunity to attend Rookie Camp provides all three players with the chance to compete alongside some of the New York Islanders’ top young prospects as they prepare for the upcoming season.
The Ironhawks open their inaugural season on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. at CURE Insurance Arena against the Adirondack Thunder. The Ironhawks are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders and Hamilton Hammers.
